Meet Kids in Motion Dance Studio

Tell us about Kids in Motion Dance Studio and why you started it. Kids in Motion Dance Studio began 17 years ago. My girls grew up dancing at a studio in Marblehead and I loved every minute of their experience. I felt like Marblehead needed an option for children to dance recreationally, meaning that dance didn’t have to be their main activity and children could take as little as one class or as many classes as they wanted. At Kids in Motion, children can take hip hop without having to take ballet. We offer a wide variety of dance classes for all levels and ages, preschool through high school. The instruction from our staff is high quality in a relaxing, caring and family feel type studio. You can register your kids for our Fall classes at

What is the best piece of business advice you’ve ever received, or advice you would like to share? When it comes to business advice, I would say, “Always trust your gut and follow your instincts”.

What is your favorite spot in Marblehead, and why? I love all of Marblehead. I grew up and raised my family here in town. One of my favorite spots is Gatchell Park. It holds a lot of great memories for me of the hundreds of baseball games my son played there.

What is something people would be surprised to learn about you? I think people would be surprised to learn that I love to knit. It’s a relaxing hobby that I really enjoy.

Meet Bubble Bar Boston

Meet Bubble Bar Boston

Tell us about Bubble Bar Boston. Bubble Bar Boston is a “Unique Mobile Bar Experience”, a fun and memorable vintage experience from which to enjoy your favorite libations run by myself and my oldest son, Alexander.  When our bar trailer and vintage 1948 Dodge truck roll up to your party in the Boston area, people are going to talk and take pictures. It’s like a magnet. Our Bubble Bar will be the first thing your guests visit and where you will find them all at the end of the event.  From custom curated cocktails, delectable grazing boards, bistro tables, vintage umbrellas, fresh fruit infused waters, and garnishes to die for. We set the scene for a night to remember.

About a year ago, we had an addition to our family, Petunia, our “Bubble Bike”. Petunia is a vintage inspired three wheeled tricycle serving chilled champagne and beer. Perfect for smaller events, more compact spaces or to have indoors.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? Follow your heart and your success will follow. Albeit with a tremendous amount of hard work and tenacity.

What is your favorite spot in Marblehead? Without a doubt the rocks by the lighthouse. Looking out across the ocean makes you feel like anything is possible. The ocean certainly soothes the soul.

What is something people would be surprised to learn about you? When we lived in Malibu, we had access to the 21st Century Fox wardrobe department. I was able to try on all of Rose’s dresses from Titanic and Alexander used to visit and borrow items for all his Halloween costumes.

Meet Satori Sailing

Meet Satori Sailing

Tell us about Satori Sailing and why you started it. We started Satori Sailing five years ago because we saw a need for a high-quality public-access adult sailing school to help people achieve their sailing dreams. We also saw an opportunity to share the beauty of Salem Sound with residents and visitors through day sailing charters and other innovative sailing adventures.

What is the best piece of business advice you’ve ever received? Know your mission and why you do what you do. Be as impeccable and kind as you can and expect the same from your employees. Finally, don’t bite off more that you can chew in terms of growing the business.

What is your favorite spot in Marblehead, and why? That’s a tough one as there are so many. If I had to choose, the northeast bench on Fort Sewall where I can look over Salem Sound and dream of another sailing season!

What is something people would be surprised to learn about you? I’m an ordained interfaith minister which allows me to officiate ceremonies and volunteer part-time as a spiritual care-provider. Perhaps one of these days, I’ll marry someone on board one of my boats!
