Tell us about Mabel of Marblehead. Mabel of Marblehead is a concierge, community, and collaboration company that curates experiences and connections for women. We host events and workshops, design special moments, and share local recommendations that help women learn, grow, and connect — all while highlighting the businesses and people who make Marblehead shine. I started Mabel to answer the question: “what should we do?!” – oftentimes we want to get together with friends and don’t want to go out to eat or sit at a bar. If there was an option in town to do something fun (or even different) that’s beautifully created and well executed, I knew people would come. Similarly, if you’re new to town or in a new stage of life, finding a group of women who are eager to learn and grow and connect with each other can be difficult. I created Mabel to empower women in the North Shore to build a community that really fit them – through beautiful events that inspire them to create beauty in their world as well.
What is the best piece of business advice you’ve ever received? If you have an idea, don’t wait, you need to put it out there and get started. Focus on effort over perfection and you’ll attract people and opportunities based on the vibe you, plus your business are putting into the world.
What is your favorite spot in Marblehead, and why? Sentimentally speaking, it would be Tony’s Pizza because my family has been eating there for as long as I can remember. But today I have a few frequented hot spots: coffee + breakfast: Mookies, shopping: Local Noon + Hunt+Gather, pampering: Organic Nails, exploring: the Rail Trail, dinner: 5 Corners, after dinner drinks: The Hidden Door
What is something people would be surprised to learn about you? I spent 20 years living in San Diego. The soul of a North Shore girl with the heart of a California girl.

Tell us about Luxe Landings and why you started it. I’ve always loved decorating my own porch and helping make spaces beautiful. Luxe Landings was born from that passion—I love mixing and matching pumpkins and mums, playing with shapes and textures, and creating gorgeous, welcoming displays that bring a little joy to every doorstep.
What is the best piece of business advice you’ve ever received? The best piece of advice I’ve received is, “Trust your gut and take a chance”. Starting something new can be scary, but that advice has guided me every step of the way.
What is your favorite spot in Marblehead, and why? Our neighborhood. We’re lucky to have a beautiful reservation and beach access just steps away. We love bringing our dog down to run and swim, collecting rocks with the kids, and enjoying the space with friends and neighbors. The water is soothing and always brings a sense of peace.
What is something people would be surprised to learn about you? I’m originally from Vermont and have spent the last 10 years working as a speech-language pathologist. Luxe Landings is a true passion project for me, and I’m so excited to see it grow.

Tell us about Two Green Thumbs and why you started it. I’m a marketer by trade, but my love of plants started much earlier — learning from my grandmother how to nurture and care for all kinds of gardens. Over the years I’ve also worked with local florists, and the work that always lit me up most was creating and tending to seasonal flower boxes and containers. They have the power to completely transform even the smallest, most overlooked space — bringing color, life, and joy for months at a time. That inspiration is what grew into Two Green Thumbs.
What is the best piece of business advice you’ve ever received? Know your customer. In Marblehead, that means creating plantings that fit our coastal light, seasons, and the way neighbors truly live.
What is your favorite spot in Marblehead, and why? There are so many beautiful spots here, but Fort Sewall wins every time for me. Dexter, my three-legged dog, and I walk there often. The harbor view, the changing light, and the friendly “hello’s” from neighbors make it a great place to sit and think, be inspired, meet neighbors, or just reset my brain.
What is something people would be surprised to learn about you? As a kid, I wanted to be a television chef, like my idol, Julia Child. I still love to cook and make fun seasonal cocktails for family and friends, but often, my meals for myself are something fast with minimal prep–fresh tomato on toast with some basil from my garden, or scrambled eggs, or a wacky combo of things in my fridge. I’m not above having cereal for dinner.

What’s your favorite spot in Marblehead, and why? The harbor. I never get tired of looking at the boats, particularly the sailing ones.
What is something people would be surprised to learn about you? Instead of retiring, my husband bought himself a 33 foot sailboat. So now, in the warmer months, I spend my free time with him on the boat.

Tell us about AGA Interior Design, why you started it and how you help your clients. I discovered my passion for design at an early age, while growing up in an antique home filled with wide plank floor boards and a beehive oven. I would frequently find paint and fabric samples as my parents worked room by room to renovate our historic home. The biggest thrill was when I selected my bedroom wallpaper in the fourth grade, the cheerful yellow and floral pattern still lines the walls today. After graduating from Hobart & William Smith Colleges and honing my skills at Kuhn Riddle Architects and Susan Reddick Design, I took the leap to start taking on my own clients. I founded AGA Interior Design in 2014, while working with Cowtan & Tout, a national textile company and subsidiary of England’s renowned Colefax & Fowler. My signature style showcases a curated mix of warm color palettes, comfortable furnishings, and layered textures. Each project is sophisticated and timeless, while remaining functional and welcoming. I pride myself on my involvement from the first preliminary phone call to the final installation. I find that this hands-on approach ensures that the final result is perfectly tailored to each client. My greatest joy is seeing our happy clients at the completion of a project.
What is the best piece of business advice you’ve ever received? My favorite piece of advice is, “If you care about what you do and work hard at it, there isn’t anything you can’t do if you want to.” —Jim Henson
What is your favorite spot in Marblehead, and why? As a lifelong architecture and history enthusiast, nothing beats a stroll around ‘Old Town,’ winding through the charming streets with original doorways and timeless details.
What is something people would be surprised to learn about you? I was the first girl on my high school golf team.
