McGuire Gallery & Colin McGuire Fine Art

Have you visited the McGuire Gallery? If not, I suggest you do. Wandering down Washington St, past the Old Town House, this 1880 antique building greets you with large windows that offer a peek at the lovely artwork inside.

With a warm welcome from Colin McGuire, I entered the gallery and immediately felt a sense of calm. I was quickly drawn to the Serenity Waves that evoke a sense of hope and light. Using a pallet knife and thick paint, Colin has a  beautiful way of creating luminous contemplative seascapes in various sizes.

I had the pleasure of chatting with Colin and learning about his family’s business, which is entering its 20th season. Colin opened the Marblehead gallery location last December (2019). Colin and his father, Michael McGuire, are the owners and sole exhibitors at the Marblehead location, as well as at the original gallery located in Provincetown, MA.

In addition to creating beautiful art, Colin offers a variety of art classes, mentorship, and portfolio preparation for high school students transitioning and pursuing an art degree. Colin is also an instructor at the Montserrat College of Art.

Upcoming painting classes and events can be found on his website and on the “events” page on  Discover Marblehead. The gallery is open Thursday – Sunday from 11:00am – 3:00pm. Stop by, say hello to Colin and browse the beautiful pieces hanging in the gallery.
