Michelle Brown – Shipyard Art
I had the absolute pleasure of visiting with Michelle Brown of Shipyard Art this past week. Her art is vibrant and refreshing which was a welcome contrast to the cold and rainy day outside. We talked for quite a while as we walked around her studio discussing our mutual love for the color blue, which is apparent in some of her work. Her space was filled with so many gorgeous pieces from canvases to tabletops.
Her artwork is amazing, each one different from the next. Colors you might not think would go together, seamlessly blend in to make the most beautiful patterns that you wish you could wear! As luck would have it, you can! Michelle takes her art to the next level by creating exquisite pieces you can wear. Imagine that…wearable art! Anything from dresses, leggings, sports bras and more.
Michelle uses various methods to create, including acrylic paints mixed with various mediums. She also uses different tools such as brushes, pouring, palette knives and pipettes to create her masterpieces. If you are interested in learning and creating your own beautiful works, she offers “Paint & Sip” workshops teaching her signature fluid art technique. You will find a schedule of upcoming classes on her website.
