Marinda, tell us about Hooked Nutrition and how you help/serve your clients. Hooked Nutrition is a community-focused nutrition club where we help people make healthier choices in a way that feels fun, simple, and sustainable. We offer grab-n-go protein-packed shakes, energy teas, protein coffees, and other wellness products, but what really makes us special is the community we’ve created. We want people to walk through our doors feeling welcomed, supported, and feeling better than when they arrived! Whether someone is working toward a specific health goal or simply wants a healthier option during their busy day, we’re here to help.

At the heart of Hooked is a genuine commitment to collaboration and giving back. We love partnering with other local businesses, supporting sports teams and community organizations, and finding creative ways to use our business as a platform to make a positive impact. We believe that when local businesses come together and support one another, we can create something much bigger than any one business could do alone.

What inspired you to start your business? I’ve always had a passion for helping people, but motherhood gave me an entirely new perspective on health and wellness. As moms, it can be so easy to put everyone else first and leave ourselves at the bottom of the list. I wanted to create something I could do and inspire others to do right alongside their children. Truly showing what’s possible beyond just motherhood, and finding purpose in a way that fills our cups and allows us to still never miss those special moments with our babies.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned in running a business? The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to never give up and to be willing to evolve. There are going to be slow seasons, challenges, mistakes, and moments when you question yourself. You have to keep showing up, listen to your customers, learn from what isn’t working, and keep moving forward.

I’ve also learned that success isn’t just about the numbers. It’s about the people you impact and the relationships you build along the way. Some of the most meaningful parts of owning a business have nothing to do with a sale.   They’re the friendships, conversations, and moments where you get to watch someone become stronger and more confident.

What do you love most about Marblehead? I love the small-town feel of Marblehead and being so close to the ocean. It’s such a beautiful place and a great community to raise a family. I love that it feels safe, supportive, and truly community-centered. There’s a strong sense of people looking out for one another and supporting local businesses, which makes it feel like more than just a place to live..it feels like a community you’re proud to be part of.

What is something people would be surprised to learn about you? Before taking my health and fitness career full-time, I worked part-time as an ABA therapist for about 12 years. I worked with children with autism and helped them become more included and successful in their classrooms and school communities. That experience really shaped who I am today. Helping people, creating connections, and making people feel included has always been a huge part of who I am. Now I get to do that in a different way!
